Position Title : Vice President, Regulatory Affairs

Position Summary :
The Vice President of Regulatory Affairs has comprehensive responsibility for ACD’s regulatory advocacy and compliance assistance programs. This position works with ACD Government Affairs staff and members to prioritize issues, develop ACD policy positions, and formulate strategies to advance the association’s interests before regulatory agencies. This position also develops and implements strategies and programs to assist ACD members with regulatory compliance. The position reports directly to the President.
Responsibilities :
- Recommends and participates in formulation of association’s mission, goals, objectives, resource allocation, and related policies; within that framework, plans, organizes, and executes the association’s regulatory programs
- Develop relationships with key federal regulatory officials to facilitate advocacy of ACD positions and cooperation on issues impacting members
- Serves as co-staff liaison to the ACD Government Policy and Advocacy (GPAC) Committee and the Chemical Warehouse Committee
- Works with the GPAC and Subcommittees to prioritize regulatory issues and develop policy positions
- Writes and submits comments to federal agencies on regulatory proposals
- Communicates regulatory information to the ACD membership through the ACD NewsBrief e-newsletter, the website, action alerts, magazine articles, blogs, and presentations at ACD meetings
- Represents and advocates for ACD before regulatory agencies, the media, and at various industry events
- Represents and advocates for ACD on industry coalitions and working groups
- Assists ACD members with regulatory questions and challenges
- Plans and implements compliance training programs and tools for members, including regulatory workshops, webinars, papers, and checklists
- Works with Education, Communications, and Meetings teams to provide regulatory content for ACD programs and publications
- Manages outside regulatory and legal consultants
- Supervises Director of Regulatory Affairs and Manager of Regulatory Affairs, including delegating issues and projects and supporting professional development opportunities
- Responsible for the development and management of the annual Regulatory Affairs budget
- Represents the organization in a professional manner
- Performs all other duties as needed
