Lead Transportation/Utility Engineer

As a Lead Transportation/Utility Engineer, you will play a critical role in mentoring engineers, organizing project design and engineering assignments, and leading transportation and utility projects. The ideal candidate will have a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois, strong leadership skills, and a passion for industry involvement and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

 Organize and manage project design and engineering tasks.

 Serve as a Licensed Professional Engineer and resolve engineering challenges.

 Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure successful project execution.

 Perform design, engineering analyses, calculations, and feasibility studies.

 Develop engineering plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).

 Assist in recruiting and mentoring engineering professionals.

 Work as part of a team to provide general utility and transportation engineering services for state agencies, counties, and municipalities.

 Prepare reports and technical documentation as needed.

 Participate in business development efforts.

Qualifications & Requirements:

 Professional Engineer (PE) License in Illinois. Indiana desirable.

 Proficiency in MicroStation and PowerGeopak/OpenRoads Designer (required).

 Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred).

 Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).

 Projectwise collaboration software skills is a plus.

 Ability to effectively communicate project issues with design teams and clients.

 Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for engineering and business development.

 Valid U.S. driver’s license required.

Education & Experience:

 Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

 Experience: Minimum of 10 years of continuous experience on similar projects.
