As a Lead Transportation/Utility Engineer, you will play a critical role in mentoring engineers, organizing project design and engineering assignments, and leading transportation and utility projects. The ideal candidate will have a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois, strong leadership skills, and a passion for industry involvement and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Organize and manage project design and engineering tasks.
Serve as a Licensed Professional Engineer and resolve engineering challenges.
Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure successful project execution.
Perform design, engineering analyses, calculations, and feasibility studies.
Develop engineering plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
Assist in recruiting and mentoring engineering professionals.
Work as part of a team to provide general utility and transportation engineering services for state agencies, counties, and municipalities.
Prepare reports and technical documentation as needed.
Participate in business development efforts.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Professional Engineer (PE) License in Illinois. Indiana desirable.
Proficiency in MicroStation and PowerGeopak/OpenRoads Designer (required).
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
Projectwise collaboration software skills is a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate project issues with design teams and clients.
Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for engineering and business development.
Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
Education & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of continuous experience on similar projects.
Salary : $130,000 - $170,000
