Job Description Summary
The Quality Assurance Nurse has responsibility in the implementation of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement needs for the organization. Accountable for the timeliness and quality of medical charts.
QA Nurse responsibilities
- Stays on top of current regulations set by CMS
- Reviews and educates Alliance Healthcare staff to be compliant
- Reviews medical records for assessment of the quality of clinical services to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures and applicable standards
- Works closely with the Director of Nursing and helps to review and inspect that all notes are accurate, detailed, and precise and that they are returned in a timely manner
- Develops, implements, and completes audits for medical records, and administrative claims
- Provides quality assurance through careful review of both technical and clinical content of the charts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Maintains current information and requirements related to applicable laws, regulations and standards
- Works/interfaces with the care plan team in the review process
- Coordinates the implementation of Medical Record’s policy to assess the quality and appropriateness of patient care
- Attends and participates in in-services, either through Zoom or in person.
- All other duties and requirements deemed necessary and appropriate
Skills Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or school of vocational/practical nursing
- Two years of work experience as a licensed nurse with at least two years of home health experience
- Knowledge of QAPI functions/Medicare COPs, and State regulations. Good computer skills
- Ability to be attentive to detail
- Possesses excellent verbal and written skills.
