Overview

Duties
- Review and analyze patient medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9 and ICD-10 systems.
- Process medical billing claims, including submitting claims to insurance companies and following up on outstanding claims.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) systems to ensure proper reimbursement for services provided.
- Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, including handling inquiries related to medical collections.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and office staff to resolve discrepancies in patient records or billing issues.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation for audits and reviews.
