RDR and Alliance Imaging are looking for a CT Technologist to produce high-quality images for interpretation by physicians that meet the standards established by Alliance Imaging. Requires competence in a variety of imaging equipment, regulations, and technology. Practices proper safety guidelines for themselves, coworkers, and patients. Fosters teamwork through effective communication. Ensures high level of service to patients through proper communication, technique, and safety guidelines. Experience with American College of Radiology Accreditation preferred. Perform other functional duties as assigned to assure efficient and optimal patient care. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5:30 pm.
Qualifications
Requires a graduate of an accredited radiography program. Organized, efficient, and multifunctional. Ability to work independently. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates effective communication.
Essential Functions
· Responsible for maintaining scanning and imaging protocols in assigned modality or modalities.
· Assistance with acquiring and maintaining required equipment accreditation and registry for assigned modality or modalities.
· Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers any questionable orders to the Radiologist before performing procedure. Contacts ordering physician when there are discrepancies and requests a corrected written order.
· Correlates prior exams, applicable test results, patient history, and lab data pertinent to exam being performed.
· Records medical history on requisition/questionnaire as needed for Radiologist and properly scans documents into RIS.
· Under the supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.
· Prepares patient for the procedure and provides necessary instructions.
· Performs basic patient care functions and informs appropriate personnel of any changes in the patient's condition.
· Evaluates technical quality of exams, develops and utilizes various techniques for elevated quality and efficiency within the department.
· Differentiates artifacts from anatomical or pathological structures and recognizes imaging abnormalities and performs additional imaging as needed.
· Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas and/or patient rooms.
· Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
· Assist with front desk workflow, scheduling, and patient check-in as needed.
· Attends meetings as required.
· Responsible and accountable for protecting the privacy and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) and Electronic Protected Health Information (EPHI) pertaining to patients and employees.
· Performs other related duties as identified.
· Interest in training in additional modalities is appreciated.
License or certification
ARRT certified in Radiography
ARRT certified in CT
Additional certifications may be required and determined by Radiology leadership
BLS certified
Physical Requirements
Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. Required to assist all patients throughout their exam. Strenuous physical effort may be required while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. Work requires unrestricted walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to read and understand patient orders and technical materials. Motor coordination needed to operate heavy and delicate equipment. Intact sense of sight and hearing for distances of up to 20 feet is necessary.
Salary : $25 - $45
