Accounts Payable Specialist
Alliance Industries is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated quick learner with a strong attention to detail, sound communication skills, analytical skills, and critical thinking skills to adapt to business needs through problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Receives and matches vendor invoices to purchase orders, contracts and receiving documents
- Works with vendors and internal departments to seek resolution on discrepancies and ensure timely payments to vendors
- Proposes vendor payments based on terms and processes electronic and manual payments
- Maintains all vendor master records in the ERP system to ensure accuracy and updated information
- Records landed cost accruals for all inbound freight
- Rebilling of utilities and other costs to third parties
- Responsible for preparing month end vendor accruals
- Prepares weekly cash reports, communicates reports with team
- Prepares and posts standing journal entries in ERP system
- Supports the Accounting team with month end close activities and related journal entries
- Respond to vendor and other inquiries in a timely and efficient manner
- Coordinate the processing of checks, ACH payments, and wires
- Review and verify the accuracy of various accounts payable and accounting department reports
- Perform daily reconciliations of various accounts
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred
- 2 years of routine accounting or bookkeeping experience is required; experience may be substituted for formal education and training in a related field; accounts payable experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
- Strong data entry, analytical, and mathematical skills are required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, team members, and internal teams
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Willingness to work side-by-side with all levels of the team
- Knowledge of accounting or bookkeeping best practices and industry trends is preferred
