Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager – Municipal Water/Wastewater

Type: Direct Hire

Work Location: Hybrid position located in these areas, Wilmington, Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville (NC), Greenville (SC), or Atlanta (GA).

Candidates must reside in the Greater Wilmington, Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville (NC), Greenville (SC), or Atlanta (GA), area.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer Licensure Required
• 7-10 years’ professional Electrical Engineering experience following industry codes & standards (NEC).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Design and plan production experience utilizing AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and Revit is required.
• Experience in standard and alternative delivery methods, such as design build.
• The ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time.
• The ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team.
• Requires process-oriented thinking with strong organizational and technical skills.
• Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives from Project Engineers and Project Managers.
• The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying demands from Project Managers.
  
  

Job Overview:

• Manages electrical design efforts and works with the project team in the development and project completion of engineering projects focused in the municipal water and wastewater field.
• Typical projects will include electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater treatment plants, wastewater pump stations, booster pump stations, or similar related municipal utility infrastructure.
• Responsible for coordination with the project manager and staff, oversight of electrical design elements, and completing project tasks within a specified budget and schedule. This includes frequently interacting with and working with the client.
• Will analyze processes and systems to identify ways to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs in collaboration with the project team.
  
  

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Managing and recruiting staff and providing mentoring for electrical engineers in the municipal water/wastewater sector.
• Responsibilities include staff management, monitoring of quality control systems, effective utilization of resources, recruiting, selecting and development of team members.
• This individual will manage the electrical project team members and other production staff members as needed within the region.
• Must be able to work as part of a project team and coordinate/schedule work with other team members including other discipline leads.
• Responsible for various tasks on several concurrent projects and independently manage these tasks through to completion within the allocated period of time and the monetary budget assigned.
• Responsible for bringing project from the design stage through to completion with multiple project team members and engineering disciplines.
• Interacts and works directly with clients, conducts preliminary evaluations, prepares various reports, produces detailed technical specifications and drawing packages, and prepares permit submittals for engineering projects.
• Balances multiple tasks on multiple projects.
• Coordinates with the project team regarding RFIs, submittals, contract modifications, and other changes to the project.
• Analyzes processes and systems to identify ways to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs within the electrical project team.
• Collaborates with the Project Managers to identify and troubleshoot problems.
• Coordinates with other engineering departments when necessary.
• Participates in site visits, agency meetings, and municipal meetings as needed.
• In addition, this person will have the opportunity and responsibility to develop new work and clients related to electrical engineering services.

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $140,000 - $175,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
