Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Metal Analyst (Metals Analyst II), you will handle advanced responsibilities in metals analysis and play a leadership role in the laboratory:
- Advanced Metals Analysis:
- Perform complex metals analyses using instruments such as ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and CVAAS.
- Must have expertise in EPA methods 200.8, 200.7, 6010, and 6020.
- Instrument Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Calibrate, maintain, and optimize advanced laboratory instruments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
- Data Validation and Reporting:
- Interpret analytical results and validate data accuracy.
- Prepare detailed reports for regulatory agencies, clients, or internal stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):
- Follow stringent QA/QC protocols to ensure reliability of results.
- Conduct method verification and validation to meet regulatory requirements.
- Method Development and Refinement:
- Contribute to the development of new analytical methods.
- Refine and optimize existing methods for metals testing to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Mentorship and Leadership:
- Train and mentor junior analysts, fostering technical growth and skill development.
- Provide guidance on best practices and procedural compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all testing aligns with relevant EPA and environmental regulations.

What We're Looking For
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (Required): Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in metals analysis within a laboratory setting.
- Proven expertise with ICP-MS, ICP-AES, and CVAAS instrumentation.
- Must have expertise in EPA methods 200.8, 200.7, 6010, and 6020.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in laboratory software and data analysis tools.
- In-depth knowledge of QA/QC processes, sample preparation, and method validation.
