Job Summary
Business Performance Analyst II works on a team to transform business problems into analytic solutions by identifying trends and patterns in data into insights to help solve business problems in creative ways. This position provides clear and concise data analysis and statistical reporting, creates data visualization resources and identifies and implements solutions that leads to automated or self-service reporting for internal customers.
What you will do
Assists in developing scalable, innovative approaches to extracting, managing, and analyzing data.
Performs data profiling and data analysis to assist in understanding the data.
Optimizes data models through normalization, table analysis, and review of queries.
Gathers and compiles data using various data collection techniques in response to data requests.
Makes recommendations for improvement and communicates issues and actions taken to appropriate business unit managers.
Guides data-based decisions and utilizes data and forecasting trends to assist with managing the needs of the business.
Assists in maintaining measurement systems for analytics including the tracking of results.
Reviews statistics from operations and determines if systems are producing what they were designed and purchased to produce; receives and evaluates requests for system changes.
Collaborates with others on the team responsible for analytics.
Works with the business to assess the validity of the data and achieve satisfactory levels of quality.
Participates in developing the strategy for business system upgrades and implementations related to business operations.
Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in math, statistics, analytics, operations research, computer science, or other applicable field Preferred
Required Experience
3 years of technical or professional experience.
Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed. (less than 5% of the time but could vary)
Experience in Programming Languages (e.g., SQL, VBA, ACL, Python) required.
Experience in Visualization Tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) required.
Experience with ad-hoc data analysis, data integration, statistical concepts and Regression.
Preferred Experience
2 years of direct experience in a related field (statistics, performance management, analytics, or
research)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
General knowledge of the utility business preferred.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management). Working knowledge of call center workforce management systems preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.

Pay Range : 85,000-$92,000
This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
