We are looking for a Reinsurance Accountant (m/f/d) within the Finance Operations team, based in O’Fallon, MO.

The Impact You Will Have
As a Reinsurance Accountant, you will be responsible for the accounting, settlement, and credit control activities associated with reinsurance activities, including Facultative Reinsurance, Quota Share program, International Insurance programs and Fronting deals. The role will be responsible for maintaining excellent relationship with internal and external parties, develop and implement effective controls to ensure inflow and outflow of reinsurance settlement timely and of high quality.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Collect assumed premium receivables and ceded loss recoverable. Apply collected cash in a timely manner.
- Process reinsurance premium and claim payables to reinsurers in a timely manner.
- Review assumed & ceded reinsurance premium and claim entries against agreement terms and supportive documents to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Work closely with clients to support premium and claim entries reflecting in our accounting system. Investigate any variance and effectively communicate with respective parties for resolution.
- Work collaboratively with other Functional areas (Operations, Accounting, Claims) and global Finance teams to enhance existing reinsurance processes.
- Monitor credit control activities which drives collateral requirements for Schedule F.
- Support internal and external auditing requests to ensure effective controls are maintained and followed.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- 1-3 years' experience in knowledge and understanding of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
- 1-3 years' experience in handling cash transactions for accounts payable and receivable.
- Experience in maintaining good data quality and compliance for accounting and finance.
- Experience in interpreting assumed & ceded reinsurance agreements.
- Proficiency in pivot table & v-lookup skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Accounting, Finance, or Business degree.
- CPA is a plus.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $57200 - $86476. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
