What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Sales Travel Distribution position at Allianz Partners?
As Head of Travel Agency Distribution, North America you will lead the Travel Markets Field Sales team to achieve objectives in the Retail Travel Agent, AAA and Wholesale Cruise & Tour Travel markets. Expected to determine strategies and tactics needed to win, grow and retain distribution partnerships. This includes the identification and development of new opportunities as well as the ability to expand the companies' presence with existing partners. Expert in understanding and communicating our customers’ business requirements and identifying ways in which the companies' existing or new products, services and capabilities can meet these needs. Serve as a member of the Sales Division senior leadership team and a member of the company leadership team.

Position is routinely expected to travel 50% of time. Ability to be in the Richmond office for a week a month.

Key Responsibilities/What You Will Do
- Serve as a mentor by providing coaching, career development, and inter-departmental relationship management for the team.
- Lead the retail management team of National Accounts, AAA Markets, Canadian Retail and Regional Sales Directors.
- Develop strategic sales plans, specific to both market segments and individual clients which identify opportunity and means to grow pipeline, profitably maximize revenue and expand distribution.
- Develop and maintain senior relationships with company clients and key internal business partners to assist with the resolution of issues.
- Work closely with the Marketing, Communications and Strategic Partnership teams to demonstrate a cooperative, team centric atmosphere focused on closing profitable business and identifying initiatives needed to succeed in meeting or exceeding company goals.
- Utilize reports to monitor effectiveness and address areas of low performance.
- Participate in large, strategic account negotiations.
- Coordinate with and support Field Sales resources on activities with Consortia and Key Accounts.
- Conduct regional and participate in the planning and execution of national sales meetings.
- Ensure processes and procedures for developing proposals, negotiating agreements, and managing contracts are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure Travel and Entertainment budgets are adhered to.
- Represent Allianz Partners US at industry conferences and tradeshows.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or combination of relevant education and work experience.
- Ten (10) years’ experience managing a remote, virtual office sales force that is responsible for achieving monthly quota from the travel, insurance, financial or other segment which calls on the travel agency channel.
- Experienced in managing distribution networks and in negotiating key account agreements.
- Ability to lead virtually based national sales team.
- Able to identify, recruit and develop sales talent.
