Are you a strategic and creative media leader with a deep understanding of personal branding, influencer marketing, and owned content strategies? We are looking for a Director of Media Relations and Brand Strategy to lead the growth and visibility of Cody Bjugan’s personal brand while overseeing content creation, social media, guest appearances on virtual and in-person podcasts and events. and media publications. This role is responsible for crafting and executing a personal brand media strategy that amplifies Cody’s influence across social media platforms, podcasts, speaking engagements and media publications. The Director of Media Relations and Brand Strategy will currently oversee a Personal Brand & Media Relations Manager (focused on securing podcasts, speaking engagements and media publications) and a Content & Social Media Manager (focused on digital content and audience engagement). The team is expected to grow as the brand grows.

Media & Personal Brand Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive media strategy to grow Cody Bjugan’s personal brand as a thought leader.
  • Lead and manage personal brand positioning efforts, ensuring all media, social, and content initiatives align with Cody’s vision, values, and audience.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities for exposure, including podcasts, interviews, partnerships, affiliate programs and collaborations.
  • Work closely with Cody and the VP of Marketing to align media efforts with business goals and growth initiatives to support all brands.

Team Leadership & Project Management

  • Oversee and support the Personal Brand and Media in securing podcast placements, speaking engagements, and media opportunities.
  • Oversee and guide the Social Media Manager in creating high-performing digital content across platforms.
  • Act as the primary project manager, ensuring the media and content team meets targets and deadlines, maintains quality, and executes high-level initiatives efficiently.
  • Develop clear workflows, processes, and editorial calendars for content, social media, owned channels, and media outreach.

Content & Social Media Oversight

  • Ensure a cohesive owned content strategy that integrates social media short and long form content across platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
  • Lead the creative vision for video content, ensuring it aligns with personal branding best practices.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and repurpose evergreen content into engaging digital assets

Media Relations & Growth Initiatives

  • Work with the Personal Brand & Media Relations Manager to create a targeted outreach strategy for podcasts, media features, and speaking engagements.
  • Develop and execute influencer collaborations and strategic partnerships that elevate Cody’s personal brand.
  • Oversee SEO and backlink strategies to ensure Cody ranks on Google for industry-relevant searches.
  • Seek out opportunities to position Cody in high-authority publications, interviews, and media features.

Job Responsibilities (Tasks Associated With The Role)

  • Proven success managing and scaling influencer brands, particularly in Real Estate or Land Development
  • 7 years of experience in personal branding media.
  • Experience leading content and social media teams with a track record of substantial growth.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of personal branding for influencers and how to leverage other people’s platforms and partnerships for maximum exposure.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and external partnerships.
  • Experience with social media, podcasting and SEO analytics is essential.
