About the Role:
As a Medical Assistant at the Digestive Disease Center of NJ, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in patient care by performing vital tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and maintaining accurate electronic health records. You will also be responsible for performing venipuncture and other laboratory procedures, which are essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Your ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff will enhance the overall patient experience and contribute to a positive healthcare environment. Ultimately, your work will directly impact patient outcomes and the efficiency of our healthcare services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a medical assistant training program, Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in gastroenterology.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health record systems.
Responsibilities:
- Take and record patients' vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Perform venipuncture and other laboratory tests as required.
- Manage electronic health records and ensure accurate documentation.
- Handle multi-line phone systems, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries.
