Summary:
Performs field duties and manual labor associated with spill response, environmental, industrial and asbestos projects. Work may include confined space entry, use of various small hand tools, cleaning interiors of boilers, storage tanks, industrial processing tanks, kilns or ovens to remove emulsion and incrustations by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Disconnects and drains tank, connects hose to water or steam lines and sprays walls, roof and bottom of tank to flush residue such as oil, acid, grease and sludge through tank openings
- Sweeps up waste and debris and shovels into drums and storage containers.
- Removes chemical residue and other liquids from tank bottoms, pits, sumps, pits, industrial fans, ovens etc... with squeegees or pump and suction hoses
- Operates pressure washers, water blasting equipment and small hand tools
- Tests gas/chemical content of tanks
- Loads and unloads project materials and equipment
- Responds to emergency spill call-outs.
- Performs confined space entry and monitoring as necessary
- Drives non-CDL Company vehicles as necessary
- Follows all company safety procedures and guidelines.
- Maintains company issued personal protective equipment (PPE)
- May be assigned to abatement or miscellaneous projects (with appropriate training)

Education and/or Experience:

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

- Commercial Driver's License (A or B) with endorsements to drive vehicles
- Operate heavy equipment, as well as proficient use of a water blaster
- 40 hour HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) certificate
