What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Infusion Nurse, PRN position at Allied Infusion Services?
Job Summary:
Allied Infusion Services is growing and is looking for a registered nurse (RN) to administer infusion therapies! Ideal candidates will be very skilled at starting IV lines and have a minimum of 1 to 2 years of infusion experience. Bilingual capabilities and experience in Rheumatology, Gastroenterology or Neurology are a plus. Being a PRN position, hours will vary and we will work with your availability. Compensation offered will reflect the job specific experience and skills that candidates possess.
Demonstrate proficient skills. Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
1. Be a registered nurse (R.N.) with a current license within the state.
2. Work positively and favorably with patients, families, and staff.
3. Infusion experience highly preferred
Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
1. Perform the infusion therapy as directed by physician orders.
2. Establish intravenous access per policy and procedure.
3. Observe, assess, and document symptoms via nurses note timely.
4. Monitor reactions and patient progress.
5. Educate patients and/or caregivers on disease process, medications.
6. Demonstrates proper infection control techniques and follows universal precautions
7. Monitors daily refrigerator temps and documents daily log.
8. Schedule follow up appointment for next therapy.
9. Provide onsite supervision of LVN/HHA as needed.
10. Notify the physician and other personnel (Nurse Manager) of change in the patient’s condition.
11. Perform skills outlined in the company’s approved policy and procedure manual.
12. Update clinical records according to policy and procedures.
13. Update knowledge and skills by attending in-service programs, continuing education programs, seminars, and self-study programs annually.
14. Perform inventory count before and after clinic and submit to Nursing leadership daily.
15. Communicate supply needs to Nursing leadership as needed.
16. Adhere to safe nursing practice standards.
17. Maintain professionalism with patient and client staff.
18. Obtain satisfaction survey from patients.
19. Collect co-pays as required.
20. Call no-show patients to schedule.
21. Be knowledgeable about medications to be administered.
22. Mix medication per policy and procedure.
23. Adhere to Medicaid and Medicare regulations.
