JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Holders Specials Cell Grinder
LEVEL OF AUTHORITY: Associate
THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Mill Holders Supervisor
JOB TITLES REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: None
ROLE: To effectively Rough and Finish OD grind Special Holders, Proto types and some tooling to print specifications. Follow applicable schedules. And work with Supervisors and Engineers as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setup and run special product, prototypes and tooling on CNC Grinder and all the adjacent supporting machines.
- Inspect parts for quality per appropriate inspection plan.
- Input programs inputs as needed to create a finish product to print specifications.
- Perform root cause analysis on any problems that may arise, make necessary changes or notify appropriate support groups through proper channels
- Process orders, according to appropriate schedule and /or supervisor’s direction, and properly stage product for next operation.
- Deburr parts before next operation as needed.
- May be required to lift, or assist with lifting, 30 pounds or more.
- Observe and report any areas that need addressed through established systems, channels and forms.
- Any other assignment to improve the quality, delivery, reduce cost and improve customer satisfaction determined to be necessary by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- AMEC Apprentice graduate or current student preferred.
Experience
- Working knowledge in the manufacture of holders, preferred.
- In depth knowledge of blueprint reading, preferred.
- Experience in the use of inspection equipment, preferred.
- CNC machine set up and operation, preferred.
- Experience in programming and trigonometry, preferred.
- Previous grinding, milling, and turning operations, preferred.
Skills
- Ability to organize, communicate, and plan activities.
Minimum requirements
- Ability to lift 32 lbs.
- Able to push loads of 100lbs.
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, indicators, scales and other inspection equipment.
- On feet 8-12 hrs.
