Service Desk Technician (SAP)
Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide and we are seeking a qualified Service Desk Technician for our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The Service Desk Technician (SAP) is an entry level position that will allow the candidate the ability to gain experience and get involved with the SAP team at Allied. This position will work primarily with the SAP team providing daily support, identifying problems, and proposing solutions. This role will work with the other business analysts to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the SAP ERP system.
The Service Desk Technician (SAP) will work as a liaison between the IT department and the assigned business units to analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business process and policies.

The Service Desk Technician (SAP) will work as a liaison between the IT department and the assigned business units to analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business process and policies.
Key Duties:
- Identify business process improvement opportunities.
- Productively working with and influencing the business area.
- Participate in future ERP Discover, Build, Test and Deploy activities.
- Map business processes.
- Identify and resolve issues.
- Maintain training documentation.
- Train users on proper usage of the ERP system.
- Testing activities for weekly SAP transports
- Review issues/tickets for patterns and make recommendations on change to leadership.
- Stay current and up to date with all system information, changes, and updates.
Qualifications:
- An associate or bachelor's degree in the field of business administration, computer science, or similar, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 0 - 2 year’s work experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of SAP and experience using the SAP system.
- Must have above average ability to communicate both in writing and orally.
- Must be self-motivated to work independently.
- Must be able to drive collaboration among different personalities and departments.
- Must be willing to work “unusual” hours when required.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
