PRODUCTION PLANNER, REFRACTORY SHAPES

The Planner is responsible for setting up accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs), warehouse data, and routing details, which are essential for the smooth execution of production orders. The procurement aspect of the role includes working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure raw materials are available when needed, based on demand forecasts and production schedules. The planner creates purchase requisitions, purchase orders, tracks orders, and coordinates deliveries to meet production deadlines while minimizing excess inventory and costs.

• Key Duties :

Depending on location or assignment, may do one or more of the following :

• Create and maintain material master data, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) data for raw materials and finished products in SAP.
• Ensure accuracy of master data and maintain consistency across SAP modules.
• Develop and manage production schedules based on demand, capacity planning, and production targets.
• Utilize SAP's Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to align production timelines with material availability.
• Adjust schedules to address potential bottlenecks, material shortages, or changes in production priorities.
• Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders for raw materials, ensuring timely procurement to meet production needs.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to track and coordinate deliveries.
• Maintain inventory stocking levels and optimize inventory turnover.
• Monitor and manage raw material inventory levels to ensure optimal availability without excess stock.
• Liaise with Customer Relations, Sales and production teams to ensure alignment on schedules, material availability, and capacity constraints.
• Identify areas for process improvement in master data management, scheduling, procurement, and warehouse operations.
• Participate in SAP system enhancements and process optimization initiatives.
• Qualifications :

Candidates with the following skills will be given priority consideration :

• 3 years experience in an ERP-based Production Planning role or similar function desired.
• A Bachelors degree in supply chain management, business management, or other related field, or equivalent experience desired.
• Experience with SAP scheduling preferred.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with solid interpersonal skills, and ability to meet face-to-face with co-workers, managers, and customers.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings preferred.
• Must have proficient organizational, analytical and time management skills.
• Must have a strong work ethic, sense of urgency and ability to multitask.
• Must be a self-starter with ability to prioritize and assist in project management as required.
• Knowledge of refractory products and characteristics of refractory, including pre-cast of refractory shapes (knowledge of concrete casting and estimating is similar and applicable) preferred.
• Working Environment :
• Predominantly office environment. Regular contact with production environment which can be dusty.
• Work environment may be hot or cold conditions.
• Required to wear appropriate PPE per Allieds Safety & Health policy.
