• Title: Contract Controller
• Duration: 6 months (potential for extension)
• Location: Merriam, KS (Remote work possible with initial onboarding onsite)
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8-5, no overtime expected
• Compensation: $45-52/hour
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Process Improvement:

• Lead end-to-end review and redesign of core accounting processes, focusing on simplification and efficiency.
• Key areas include:

• Inventory management (raw materials to finished goods, reconciliations)
• Transportation logistics (rail and truck)
• Close process (currently a 6-day close, aim to shorten)
• Account reconciliations
• Capital asset management and system integration
• Develop and document new process flows and work papers.
• Controls:

• Collaborate with an in-house resource to implement new accounting controls.
• Ensure processes align with new controls and regulations.
• Project-Based Approach:

• Focus on prioritized projects with clear deliverables and timelines.
• Minimal day-to-day transactional accounting. Required Skills and Experience:
• Manufacturing and Distribution Experience: Essential for understanding the industry and operational complexities.
• Process Improvement Expertise: Proven ability to analyze, redesign, and implement efficient processes.
• Strong Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices related to inventory, cost accounting, close processes, and reconciliations.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and adaptability to learn new software.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  
  

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Oil and Gas Industry Experience: Highly desirable due to the company's evolving focus towards renewable energy.
• JD Edwards Experience: Beneficial but not mandatory
