Overview
Responsible for efficiency improvements in manual/robotic welding, spot-welding, and metal finish through the use of technology and improved methods. This position has the responsibility for compliance with all customer weld specifications and programs. This position is also responsible for teaching, training and continuous improvements in all areas related to welding.
Key Responsibilities
Setup and Operation:
Configure and operate robotic welding equipment according to production specifications and quality standards.
Program robotic systems to perform specific welding tasks and adjust settings as needed to maintain optimal performance.
Maintenance And Troubleshooting
Conduct routine maintenance on robotic welding equipment to ensure reliable operation and prevent downtime.
Diagnose and repair any mechanical, electrical, or software issues with robotic welding systems.
Perform regular inspections of welding robots to identify and resolve potential problems before they affect production.
Quality Control
Monitor the quality of welds produced by robotic systems, making adjustments to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded components to ensure they meet design requirements.
Process Improvement
Analyze welding processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and safety.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements and optimize robotic welding operations.
Safety And Compliance
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to welding and robotic operations.
Documentation And Reporting
Maintain accurate records of welding parameters, maintenance activities, and production outputs.
Generate reports on robotic welding performance, including efficiency, quality, and downtime metrics.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., robotics, welding technology, mechanical engineering) preferred.
Experience
Previous experience in robotic welding or a related field is highly desirable.
Experience with welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding is beneficial.
Skills
Proficiency in programming and operating robotic welding systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
Strong understanding of welding principles, techniques, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in various positions.
Exposure to welding fumes, heat, and noise.
Work Environment

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves, and safety glasses is required.
