What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreational Therapy Aide, Skilled Nursing Center (Full Time) position at ALLIED SERVICES?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Recreation Therapy, the Recreation Therapy Aide plans, organizes, and implements a variety of individual and group activities designed to meet the needs of all residents of Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center.
Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the person-specific needs of the patients served.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience working with a geriatric population preferred.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check.
Must be certified or become certified in CPR.
Ability to maintain/promote positive relationships with residents, families, and facility personnel required.
Valid PA driver’s license preferred.
If selected as a driver, must pass Allied Services’ Driver Training Program.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work duties require exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift), and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects.
Position involves bending, reaching, walking, transporting of wheelchairs, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) throughout shift.
Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.
Must be able to load/unload and securely strap residents onto van for safe transport.
ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS:
Possible exposure to paint fumes in certain craft activities.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works on units, residents' dining room, and outside the facility.
