As they continue to expand their footprint, they are seeking a Mid-Level Estimator to join their team in Irving, TX. This is a newly created role, offering a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic estimating team in a stable and growth-oriented company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for structural steel components using computer-aided and manual takeoffs.
- Understand and analyze labor standards for steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Review contract drawings, specifications, and vendor/subcontractor quotes to ensure scope compliance.
- Develop supporting documentation to produce accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with teams to identify buy-out items and special project requirements.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of Estimators-in-Training.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Minimum five years of experience in the structural steel industry in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection means and methods.
- Prior construction experience with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
Preferred:
- Experience reviewing contract documents and developing takeoffs.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Preferred but not required).
