Overview
We are seeking an experienced tool and die maker to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating dies and metal tools, interpreting design blueprints, and assembling finished components. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the functionality and performance of the final products.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, CAD drawings, and design schematics.
- Visualize and calculate metal shapes, sizes, and tolerances.
- Design and create jigs and templates to aid in part fabrication.
- Measure and mark metal stock to prepare for machining.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
- Cut and shape metal blocks to precise specifications.
- Grind, fill, and shim metal components for a smooth, flawless finish.
- Fit and assemble tool and die components.
- Inspect finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and accuracy.
- Conduct performance tests on completed tools and dies.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance on compound tooling.
- Proven troubleshooting skills with dies, both in and out of press.
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
- Strong machining skills, quick learning ability, and willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Experience with foil compound tooling is a plus.
- Welding skills, particularly with tool steel, are an added advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
