Allient Inc. is currently seeking an Associate Engineer to join our Dayton, Ohio team!

As an Associate Engineer, you will be directing, coordinating, and heading initiatives, integration, and completion of engineering projects within areas of assigned responsibility. Responsibilities :
Plans and formulates engineering programs according to project requirements.
Supports activities such as technical studies, test fixture design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing, in accordance with engineering disciplines of staff.
Performs product testing in electromechanical laboratory environment
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget and prepares interim and completion project reports.
Communicates with other areas in the organization (e.g., engineering, drafting, technical) to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.
May serve as a liaison with the engineering for specifications, updates and problem resolution
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical
0 - 3 years of work experience; knowledge of gear motors, electric motors and drives a plus
Fundamental project management knowledge and skills
Strong knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines
Solid computer skills include MS Office, engineering design software such as Solidworks, Creo, MatLab, Altium, etc
Physical Demands :
The role is mostly office-based but may spend time standing and walking on the production floor or development lab.
May be required to operate a computer as well as some production machinery and lab equipment.
Occasionally may have to lift and / or transport items weighing between 10 and 40 pounds.
Work Environment :
Predominately office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor and development lab.
While on the production floor, employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts and may be required to put on precautionary, protective wear such as safety glasses.
