High School English Teacher

An independent day school located in North Miami Beach, is looking for a full-time enthusiastic English Teacher. We are a secondary school, with students in grades 6 through 12.

This job will commence on August 9th.

The job responsibilities include:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional presentations and activities for students.
• Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
• Check student work daily for errors and provide additional instructional support, if necessary.
• Create hands-on projects designed to enhance learning and make English relevant to students.
• Complete appropriate assessments/evaluations.
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by utilizing approved teaching team strategies.

Necessary qualifications and skills:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree English.
• Certification preferred but not necessary.
• An understanding of adolescents and experience teaching them is preferred but not required.
• Skills in the use of technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding presentational skills.
• Detail oriented with exceptionally good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• A positive attitude and willing to take the initiative with different tasks and responsibilities and adaptable to different situations.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to get involved in extracurricular activities.
• FBI background screening required.
