Job Responsibilities
- Supervises, plans and directs all production activities within paint division for a large metal fabrication & manufacturing plant
- Must have working knowledge in paint and surface preparation principles
- Experienced in wet paint and power coating
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- LEAN Manufacturing 5S knowledge [preferred but not required]
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Operating Systems Verbal and Written communication and negotiation skills and daily planning / scheduling
- Monitors departments inventory and use of consumables
- Coach and counsel employees through quality, production and policy issues
- Performs employee evaluations
- Conducts team and safety meetings to ensure good communication within the workplace
- Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures
Skills and Requirements
- Prior experience supervising blasting and painting in order to qualify.
- Must have prior experience in construction fabrication
- Experience using safe work habits.
