What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP Clinical Services position at Allouez Senior Living?
REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President
JOB SUMMARY: Implement and manage quality assurance and clinical initiatives throughout the company, provide guidance and leadership to FMG, Nurses and Executive Directors to ensure the highest quality care for the residents.
DUTIES:
The Vice President of Clinical Services will be responsible for the below job duties including but not limited to:
- Understanding of clinical process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the resident's care.
- Ensure clinical electronic health record is maintained assuring documentation/evaluation processes are within regulatory compliance requirements and operational functionality.
- Maintain knowledge of DHS 83 & 89.
- Collaborate with Director of Operations, Executive Directors, Nurses, and team members to ensure the residents' well-being.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and changes and maintain FMG compliance standards.
- Lead companywide quality assurance to include directing senior leadership in their role and responsibilities.
- Monitor electronic charting compliance to include daily task and medication charting, observations, incident and fall reports, care plans, assessments, and behavior support plans.
- Monitor through weekly communication with communities, clinical risk and assist in development of proactive action resolutions and training opportunities.
- Be a liaison for communities with outside agency partners.
- Develop Quality Assurance/Improvement program and participate in QA meetings with Nurses, and Executive Directors
- Determine risk for company and create policy, procedures in line with practice and regulatory requirements.
- Perform and coordinate education and training to team members to ensure clinical best practice is achieved for all residents’ care.
- Complete and produce reports as requested.
- Communication with medical providers as appropriate.
- Resource for Executive Directors regarding training and Clinical Standards that promotes a good working relationship with nursing and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Ensure a Holistic approach by Nurses to meet residents’ needs to promote their highest well-being.
- Coach and mentor Nurses to ensure support and guidance in all areas.
- Participate in performance improvement discussions as a discipline expert as needed.
- Create a Clinical budget.
- Participate in Sales/Marketing and business development projects and planning.
- Monitor regulatory compliance and oversee annual audit schedule.
- Plan succession strategies for key positions with growth planning to maintain positions and limit turnover rate.
- Record and report Key Performance Indicators related to industry trends.
- Assist operations at various locations and work in different roles with travel to wherever the need is greatest routinely.
- All other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Demonstrates an understanding of costs and financial support as it relates to quality and efficiency.

- Maintains an active Wisconsin RN license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching.
- Requires sitting and standing associated with normal office environment.
