Description
Allpoints Surveying is seeking an Architectural Data Drafter to join our growing team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong complex problem-solving capabilities. The Architectural Data Drafter is responsible for accurately creating a detailed analysis of architectural layouts, using computer-aided (CAD) software, while creating and maintaining the house plan database. The incumbent will review field notes, subdivision plats, and builder guidelines to ensure each job is drafted correctly and includes all the required information.
Responsibilities
· Uses computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to draft accurately scaled footprints and exhibits.
· Reviews and interprets builder architectural layouts to analyze, produce, and update footprints for use on site plans.
· Updates and troubleshoots the company house plan database and addresses all matters for the company regarding house information.
· Accurately identifies house problems when comparing forms to site plans and communicates solutions clearly to other departments and the builder.
· Reviews aerial easements for encroachment for all company departments.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in architectural design is required.
· A bachelor’s degree in architecture, Construction Science or a related field is preferred.
· A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
· Experience with AutoCAD software required.
· A certification from an accredited CAD program preferred.
· Experience in the home builder industry a plus.
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) required.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
· High degree of attention to detail required.
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment required.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Working Conditions
This role follows a five-day (5) workweek, with employees expected to work in the Houston office from Monday to Friday.
