POSITION
The head of financial reporting will report to the Chief Accounting Officer and will be based in our Charlotte, NC office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of the accounting team
- Preparation and review of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements including, balance sheet, income statement , cashflows and equity.
- Oversee outsourced Tax providers- Income tax and Non-income tax (Business license, Personal Property, etc.)
- Manage debt accounting, debt covenants
- Overseeing compensation accounting, debt accounting and corresponding monthly reconciliations,
- Financial statement preparation.
- Coordinate and manage audits by external auditors with support from CAO.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, concise and comprehensive manner
- Ensuring financial reports are GAAP compliant and containing appropriate disclosures
- Lead special accounting analysis and projects, as necessary
- Prepare the quarterly lender financial statements and compliance certificate
- Execute compensation accounting activities and defining accounting policy (including but not limited to formulaic incentives, discretionary incentives, severance, etc)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
- 8 years of relevant work experience as an accountant or accounting lead
- Prior experience preparing and reviewing financial statements for internal reporting, external audit along with supporting footnote schedules
- Experience in accounting policy and regulatory reporting, including US GAAP and Statutory and SEC reporting.
- Prior experience and knowledge of investment products, financial services, and/or asset management
- Supervisory experience needed
- Oracle Fusion experience a plus.
