Responsibilities:
APRS is seeking dedicated and skilled Asphalt Mill Operators to join our team.
- Operate and maintain asphalt milling equipment to efficiently and safely correct payment deficiencies such as cross slope, surface drainage, and smoothness.
- Remove old or damaged asphalt, gravel, or concrete base layers and prepare surfaces for paving or rework.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on milling equipment, such as greasing, cleaning, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor the milling process to ensure that the depth and width of the milling cut meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Assist in the transportation of the milling machine as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate work activities and ensure efficient project execution.
- Maintain and communicate accurate records of work performed and any issues encountered during milling operations.
- Be available for other tasks and projects as required.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience operating asphalt milling equipment is beneficial but not required.
- Knowledge of asphalt paving and construction processes is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid Class A License with the ability to obtain hazardous materials and tanker endorsements.
- Current DOT medical card and acceptable motor vehicle record.
