We are seeking a Housing Coordinator at Allure Housing LLC. The Housing support coordinator plays an essential role in assisting individuals with disabilities in finding and maintaining safe, accessible, and affordable housing. This position is key in ensuring that clients have stable housing that meets their unique needs and aligns with their goals for independent living. The Housing Support Coordinator will work closely with clients, families, landlords, and community partners to identify housing opportunities and provide ongoing support to ensure successful tenancies.
Housing Search and Placement:
- Assist clients in identifying and securing housing that meets their needs and preferences, while considering budget, location, accessibility, and proximity to services.
- Maintain a network of housing providers, landlords, and property managers to identify available housing options and build positive relationships.
- Guide clients through the application process for housing, including gathering documentation, completing forms, and submitting applications.
- Client Support and Advocacy:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the housing search and placement process, offering guidance and advocacy when needed.
- Conduct intake assessments to understand clients' housing needs and preferences.
- Provide education on tenant rights and responsibilities, and help clients navigate any challenges they may encounter with their housing.
- Housing Stabilization and Retention:
- Work with clients to ensure their housing stability by addressing any issues that arise during tenancy, such as rent payments, landlord-tenant communication, or maintenance concerns.
- Assist clients in accessing resources to support housing retention, such as financial assistance, utility programs, and community-based services.
- Monitor housing stability, following up with clients regularly to address concerns and prevent displacement.
- Collaboration with Service Providers:
- Collaborate with social service agencies, case managers, and healthcare providers to coordinate supportive services that promote successful tenancy and independent living.
- Work with local government agencies, housing authorities, and nonprofit organizations to stay informed about available programs and resources that may assist clients.
- Advocate for clients’ needs with landlords and service providers to ensure the necessary accommodations and support are provided.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of housing searches, client interactions, and housing placements.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on housing placement and retention outcomes for management and regulatory purposes.
- Document client needs, progress, and barriers in maintaining housing, using electronic records management systems.
- Program Development and Outreach:
- Stay informed about housing trends, available resources, and legislative changes affecting housing for individuals with disabilities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new housing initiatives or partnerships to enhance the program’s effectiveness.
- Conduct outreach to local housing providers, government agencies, and community organizations to increase the availability of housing options for clients.
Qualifications:
- Experience in housing services, case management, or working with individuals with disabilities (preferred).
- Knowledge of affordable housing programs, local housing markets, and tenant rights.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and client-centered approach with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position occasional weekend hours required to meet clients' needs.
