Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Payroll Analyst to process and manage payroll, along with the administration of employee benefits programs. The ideal candidate will ensure that employees receive accurate compensation in a timely manner, while also managing various benefits programs. This role involves the calculation of wages, administration of payments, compliance with regulations, and exceptional communication skills for interacting with colleagues and executives.

Responsibilities
Payroll Calculation and Processing:
- Gather and compute hours worked, wages, bonuses, deductions, and taxes
- Process payroll accurately and timely for all employees
- Handle direct deposits, process paper checks, and administer statements of payment
- Manage wage garnishments, raises, bonuses, and commissions
- Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws
- Prepare and submit payroll reports
- Manage payroll tax filings and year-end processes (e.g., W-2, 1099)
- Reconcile payroll with the general ledger and bank statements
- Conduct regular payroll audits and facilitate external and internal audits
- Address payroll-related queries from employees and management
- Provide information on payroll, tax issues, benefits, and employment verification
- Maintain and update payroll records and employee information
- Track leave balances (e.g., vacation, sick leave)
- Implement, maintain, and review payroll systems and software
- Assist with the integration of new payroll systems
- Enter and verify data in payroll systems, databases, and spreadsheets
- Check timesheets, work charts, and make necessary adjustments
- Develop and implement compliant payroll policies and procedures
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments on payroll matters
- Maintain proper documentation and records of payroll activities
- Process wage garnishments, raises, bonuses, and commissions
- Address payroll-related issues and questions from employees and management
- Extensive knowledge of payroll laws and best practices
- Proficiency with payroll, including HRIS
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with employees, management, and third-party vendors
- Ability to understand and evaluate complex benefits information and proposals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and payroll/HRIS software
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist/Analyst/Manager
- Four to seven years of related experience in payroll
