What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Treatment Assistant Part Time position at Allwell Behavorial Health Services?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Youth Residential Treatment Assistant provides direct supervision, support and monitoring of the personal care needs of residents in the Youth Residential Program. The Youth RTA ensures program policies and procedures are followed in providing residential care.
RESPONSIBILITIES/STANDARDS:
a) Provides direct supervision of residents in the Youth Residential Program.
b) Follows the daily schedule of residents.
c) Ensures residents attend scheduled appointments and activities including education, treatment, medical, psychiatric, court, and child protective services.
d) Ensures that program policies and procedures are followed.
e) Monitors client administration of prescribed medication.
f) Makes certain that personal care plans are followed.
g) Complies with all Quality Improvement standards related to the operations of the youth residential programs.
h) Ensures the safety of residents through supervision, encouragement, and appropriate intervention.
i) Attend and complete required training.
j) Attend supervision and staff meetings.
k) Attend work, being prompt, on time, and filling shifts as scheduled
QUALIFICATION:
A. TECHNICAL: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in mental health, counseling, psychology, social work or closely-related field; or an Associate’s Degree or High School education and three years of experience in social work, residential care, or a related field.
B. ANALYTICAL: Exercises judgment in discriminating among many alternatives. Solutions to problems require the application of established practices. Reference to supervision and precedents is available as needed.
C. CONTROL: Ensures effective management of program funds, client funds and client property.
- Prefer bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in mental health, counseling, psychology, social work or closely-related field; or an Associate’s Degree or High School education and three years of experience in social work, residential care, or a related field.
- Current certification in SCM.
- Current certification in CPR/First Aid.
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Good judgment.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to enhance residents’ skills and development.
- Skill to resolve crisis situations.
- Good rapport with the community and referral sources.
- Good rapport with residents.
- Ensures effective management of program funds, client funds and client property.
