We are seeking a Quality Leader to join our manufacturing facility in Newton, Iowa. The Quality Leader manages and coordinates daily quality inspections of parts, components, and materials used in manufactured products and processes. They ensure that the assigned team meets objectives in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity by carrying out these tasks personally or through their team members.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Directs sampling inspection and testing of received parts, components, materials, and finished products to meet quality conformance standards.
- Conducts periodic and special surveys of facilities and manufacturing processes to determine adequacy and capability of quality control, and ability to comply with complete quality specifications.
- Reviews quality problems with engineering personnel and directs action required to correct defects.
- Prepares periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, quality system, schedules, and rejected items.
- Establishes priorities and ensure maximum usage of assigned resources.
- Evaluates and recommend alternative auditing procedures for continuous improvement.
- Develops and maintains QA programs complementary to enterprise quality system, corporate objectives and policies.
- Performs as ISO representative to head quality program.
- Guides organization personnel through new practices and certifications.
- Develops new methods to resolve problems occurring during QA activities.
- Supports production leads and operators for interpretation and methods.
- Interprets and enforces company policies and safety regulations.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Conducts meetings regularly with inspection and audit team to support consistency.
- Interprets quality control system to people within the organization.
- Two-year degree in supervision, management, business or a related area and 3 years of supervisory/management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous quality control experience in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching/mentoring skills.
