ALMACO is currently seeking an Advanced CNC Programmer.
Advanced CNC Programmers at ALMACO work independently but still enjoy a friendly team atmosphere.
You enjoy using your extensive experience with CAD/CAM software to program CNC machines. You equally enjoy the hands-on process of setting up and operating the CNC lathe, mill, and manual equipment taking the concepts and making them a reality.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate moderate to extensive experience with Autodesk HSMWorks and SolidWorks or similar CAD software with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications to create the code and toolpaths for the CNC machine. Our HAAS CNC machine is equipped with Macro programming, another tool that you have a sound understanding of.
Your eye for detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills contribute to your tenacity and pride in consistently producing quality machined parts.
Opportunities in this position:
- Program CNC machinery to ensure that products are within specification.
- Work with Engineering and Machine Shop staff to design jigs and fixtures to secure parts during the machining process.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise with the machines and machining process.
- Adjust feeds and speeds to machine material safely and maximize cutter tool life.
- Set up conventional machining tools, such as lathes, and mills to make parts as specified.
An ideal candidate would possess:
- A High School Diploma or Degree is required.
- 6 years of experience with programming, setting up, and running CNC machines.
- Professional experience with Autodesk HSMWorks and Solidworks or similar CAD software.
- Completion of a trade school program.
- Experience working with manual mills, lathes, and drill presses.
- Strong ability to read written job instructions, diagrams, lists, prints, and manuals, and a solid understanding of machining concepts to problem-solve and troubleshoot as needed.
