Teacher Job Description
Desired Education: Bachelor's Degree
Desired Experience: 1-2 yrs. Direct Teaching
Instruction
- Use a variety of teaching and instructional techniques to deliver content.
- Implement whole group, small group, and differentiated instruction based upon students’ needs.
- Adhere to state and organizational curriculum standards during instruction.
- Regularly perform formative and summative assessments to track student progress and development.
Lesson Plans
- Develop weekly lesson plans for classroom subjects that include all learning criteria.
- Lesson plans should include the lesson's objectives, standards, classwork activities, teaching techniques, homework, projects, materials used, formative and summative assessment.
Students
- Create a positive learning environment for students.
- Consider each child’s ability, interest, and achievement when planning academics.
- Help each child accept the strengths and weaknesses of others and learn to work cooperatively with classmates.
- Encourage creativity in all areas of study.
- Support students in maintaining curiosity, enthusiasm, and zest for life and learning.
- Respect students’ cultural backgrounds and viewpoints during discussions.
Classroom Management
- Apply best practices of classroom management and student engagement.
- Use incentives to encourage positive behavior and conduct in the class.
Teamwork
- Collaborate with fellow grade level/subject teachers on curriculum projects.
- Work closely with colleagues and academic individuals to promote the best learning approaches in educating students.
- Maintain and enrich parent-teacher relationships by always establishing clear channels of communication with them.
Administrative
- Adhere to Almadina Academy educational environment Islamically, professionally, and ethically.
- Attend school-wide related initiatives including but not limited to staff meetings and professional development days.
- Adhere to school safety protocols.
- Preparing and distributing quarterly report cards.
- Conducting parent-teacher meetings.
- Adhere to Almadina Academy personnel handbook.
- Perform additional administrative duties in connection to the role.
