About Almazan Law and the Position:
Almazan Law, a growing high-end boutique Florida law firm with staffed offices in Miami and Tampa, is seeking a construction defect paralegal to support its Tampa construction defect practice
An experienced Construction Defect Paralegal is expected to:
Work alongside senior partners primarily on construction defect and commercial litigation matters. The position requires efficiently and effectively servicing files through all phases of litigation from inception to resolution, including pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and trial. The successful candidate will be dependable and have demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills. Minimum of two (2) years of construction defect litigation experience highly preferred.

Almazan Law’s core practices include real estate and tile, civil litigation (including commercial, construction, insurance, personal injury, real estate, and wrongful death), appellate, and workers compensation defense.
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct legal research and analysis, including case law, statutes, and regulations related to construction defect claims.
- Draft and review legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and correspondence.
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Manage and organize case files, including electronic and paper documents.
- Conduct client intake and interviews.
- Assist with the scheduling and coordination of depositions, hearings, and other court events.
- Maintain accurate time records and billing entries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Paralegal in a law firm setting, with a strong emphasis on construction defect litigation.
- Ability to abstract medical records to assist in case management and assessment
- Proven experience with legal research and writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of legal software and databases (e.g., PACER, Court MAP, E-Filing, Motion Calendars, LexisNexis).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
