Hotel Maintenance Technician (PM Shift 3p-11p)

The Aloft Indianapolis Downtown (New Marriott property opening Q1 of 2025) is looking for an energetic, detailed oriented and friendly individual to be part of our Engineering team as a Maintenance tech at Indy's newest and trendiest hotel destination; boasting 128 guestrooms, a full-service bar and a small plate dining concept. Aloft is a hip Marriott lifestyle brand focused on style, personality and a lively hotel social scene to cater to the next gen traveler.

As a Maintenance Tech, you would be responsible for the following tasks:

• Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient and safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs to guestrooms, public spaces, hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC and electrical.
• Respond to all emergency situations such as fire alarms, floods, power failures, etc.
• Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
• Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
• Take equipment and meter readings and maintain company and brand maintenance logs to ensure repair and communication of problems.
• Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased.
• Assist with maintenance of the parking lot and snow removal as needed.
• Complete any and all tasks assigned by the Chief Engineer
• When needed, assist other departments and employees with any tasks requested by a supervisor or manager such as aiding in guest amenity deliveries as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction are also highly recommended
• One year prior experience in building maintenance or related industry
• Good communication, attention to detail, time management, basic computer and guest satisfaction skills are required.
• The ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• The ability to crawl for short periods of time.
• The ability to bend, reach over-head, squat, kneel for extended periods of time.
• The ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• The ability to utilize step stools and ladders.
