Manager Opportunity for a Small Cafe! $18.50/Hour in Kilauea

We are looking for a Cafe Manager to join our friendly team in Kilauea! Our unique grocery and restaurant hybrid offers a delightful experience with a full-service grocery store, a cozy coffee bar, a selection of beer and wine, made-to-order food, and inviting indoor and outdoor dining areas.
You will play a key role in maintaining our high standards of service and ensuring that every guest has an exceptional experience. You'll be the heart of our caf, showcasing your leadership skills, product knowledge, and commitment to cleanliness and safety. Your responsibilities will include training and supporting our wonderful staff during busy meal times, as well as understanding P&L reports to help us meet and exceed our financial goals.

As our Cafe Manager, you'll:
Lead a dynamic team in a hybrid grocery and restaurant environment

Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, professional, gracious service at all times.
Represent the company professionally through effective communication, cooperation and relationships with the all business partners.
Provide leadership for a culture and work environment based upon professionalism and respect, fosters opportunities for staff to learn, grow and develop their abilities.
Understand completely all programs, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
Service - Determine the quality of the staff by assessing performance. Ensure staff demonstrates proper guest relations. Handle all guest complaints properly.
Ensure food handling and presentation procedures upheld at all times.
Maintain FOH cleaning lists and schedules. Conduct a daily walk-through to ensure projects are being completed and cleanliness of area is to standard.
Ensure employee training is ongoing and proper programs are being followed. Ensure all employees have completed required tests and certification programs. Conduct shift meeting on every shift.
Review daily sales figures, comparing to budget. Labor - Control labor during shift. Assess sales volume and make cuts where and when necessary, comparing to budget. Eliminate/minimize any overtime.
Assist with food and beverage inventory (weekly/monthly/quarterly as assigned) and determine actual costs. Review weekly with Chef, cost of goods sold, comparing to budget. Investigate reasons for high costs. Follow proper procedures for daily invoice review and logging, price review, ordering/receiving, tracking waste and spoilage, setting par levels.
Review P & L weekly with Operations Manager of Restaurants and Bars. Understand the weekly and monthly targets. Assist with determining how to meet all targets.
Maintain constant communication with management through proper use of Managers' Log. Utilize Managers' Log to document employee issues (lateness, tardiness, and performance issues), food issues (items out of stock, line check notes about quality, etc.), sales, labor, and other pertinent information.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or equivalent.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software, like OpenTable and NCR Silver Pro.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, performing work accurately and efficiently while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to effectively train and develop staff and build team morale.
- Able to work independently and on a team.
- Willingness to be open, to learn, and take on new responsibilities.
- Regular, predictable attendance.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must possess a valid TB Clearance
