What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Pastor position at Aloha Vietnamese Baptist Church?
Aloha Vietnamese Baptist Church is looking for a Youth pastor for the English Ministry (EM) Congregation. The EM Pastor serves as leader of the English-speaking membership. The majority of the ministry consists of members in middle school, high school, and college.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Plan and conduct English-speaking worship services, developing effective and thought- provoking biblical teaching and application of God's word, planning with music leadership and leads in the observance of ordinances.
- Leads EM in effective and age-appropriate programs with vision, purpose and priority.
- Works with Senior Pastor, Deacons and EM leadership to carry out the vision, mission and purpose of the church.
- Pastoral Care: Visits and ministers to members.
- Works with Senior Pastor, Deacons and EM leadership to carry out the vision, mission and purpose of the church.
- Pursues mutual and healthy relationships with children, their parents and members to provide support and guidance in spiritual growth for children.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Bible or pastoral studies, theology, and ministry and some experience in ministry.
- Ability to teach God's word passionately, relevantly and effectively. Demonstrating ability to use scripture, logic and rhetoric to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Lead by examples of godly characters.
- Ability to communicate and connect with members where English may be a second language.
- Demonstrated use of the English language to articulately deliver the Word to a congregation with varying degrees of comprehension.
- Demonstrated ability to understand Vietnamese/Asian culture and assimilate into a multi- generational Vietnamese/Asian community.
