Job Summary
The Project Manager will provide comprehensive administrative and technical leadership for construction projects, from bid preparation to final client acceptance. This position involves managing earthwork and heavy civil projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate guidelines.
- Schedule & Budget Management: Monitor construction progress, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets; address and resolve critical issues.
- Client Relations: Represent the company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Financial Management: Oversee financial aspects of contracts to safeguard company interests while ensuring client satisfaction.
- Estimation & Planning: Prepare detailed project estimates, review proposal specifications and drawings, and allocate resources effectively.
- Construction Supervision: Coordinate and supervise construction efforts, ensuring compliance with design, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
- Team Leadership: Direct on-site functions such as scheduling, engineering, and material control; supervise craft employees and/or contractors.
- Technical Support: Provide guidance on construction methods, equipment usage, and interpretation of project drawings.
- Change Management: Initiate and manage extra work estimates and change orders as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise up to 20 supervisors managing crews of up to 200 employees.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical training/experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction management, estimating, or craft supervision in earthwork or heavy civil projects.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of construction technology, equipment, methods, and industry standards.
- Strong financial management and contract negotiation skills.
- Effective leadership and team-building abilities.
- Familiarity with craft agreements and jurisdictional negotiations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
