Position Objective
The Dietary Aide is responsible for working in the café, tray line, and dish machine area. They are responsible for the cleanliness of the work area and the safe and sanitary handling of food, equipment, and supplies.
Essential Responsibilities
- Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved
- Clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation
- Operate the dish machine, clean the dish machine, and maintain sanitary conditions in the dish machine washing room and pot and pan area
- Operate the cash register
Other Responsibilities
- Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
- Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
- Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
- Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department

Required Qualifications
- No formal training or set educational requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to serve correct food following standards recipes and special diet orders
- Ability to keep work area neat and clean at all times
- Ability to comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
- Ability to handle dishes, food, supplies, pots and pans and equipment with proper sanitary techniques
- Keep serving areas neat and clean, dishes good in a pleasing and appetizing manner
- Strong skill in demonstrating excellent customer service through attitude and actions
- Ability to perform good sanitary techniques and understand therapeutic diets
