Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to review, analyze, and prepare comprehensive bids for commercial metal stud framing and drywall projects. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of construction costs, labor allocation, material requirements, and industry best practices. This position requires proficiency in Quick Bid and On-Screen Takeoff software, along with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities: Bid Preparation & Project Assessment

• Review and analyze invitations to bid, project proposals, blueprints, and specifications.
• Determine labor, material, equipment, and time requirements for each project.
• Generate accurate, detailed bid estimates using estimating software, cost databases, and industry knowledge.
• Prepare and present budgets and cost analyses for internal review and client submission.
• Collect and analyze data to resolve discrepancies in project documentation.

Client & Team Collaboration

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with general contractor clients, ensuring timely communication throughout the bid process.
• Work closely with project managers and other estimators to align bids with project delivery expectations.
• Assist in developing and maintaining bidders lists, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor proposals and scopes of work.
• Obtain clarifications from architects, engineers, and design teams as needed.

Team Leadership & Reporting

• Supervise and mentor junior estimators, project engineers, and interns as required.
• Contribute to special reports and trend analyses by collecting and summarizing market data.
• Support continuous improvement of cost databases and estimating tools.

Industry Expertise

• Apply expertise in metal stud framing, drywall systems (interior and exterior), lath and plaster, scaffolding, EIFS, and acoustical ceilings.
• Stay current with construction methods, materials costs, and market pricing trends.
• Evaluate and incorporate knowledge of foundation, structural systems, interior finishes, mechanical and electrical systems into accurate bid estimates.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, with a focus on metal stud framing and drywall systems.
• Proficiency in Quick Bid and On-Screen Takeoff software is required.
• Strong knowledge of civil/site construction, foundation systems, structural systems, and mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, AutoCAD 3D, and Takeoff software.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to build effective relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
