Job Summary:
The Afterschool Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality care and educational activities to children in our afterschool program. The teacher will maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom while ensuring that all activities align with the standards and guidelines of the school. The role involves working closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure a fun, interactive, and educational experience for the children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being by adhering to all licensing guidelines and company standards.
- Foster a compassionate, nurturing, and supportive environment for all children.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized classroom, making sure materials and resources are easily accessible.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to plan, prepare, and implement daily activities that promote learning and development.
- Engage children in creative, educational, and fun activities that support their cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
- Ensure children’s needs are met in a respectful and professional manner.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Follow all school policies and procedures, including emergency protocols and safety measures.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility is preferred.
- Coursework in early childhood education or child development is a plus.
- Strong references and a proven track record of caring for and nurturing children.
- Ability to meet state and accreditation requirements for education and experience.
- Flexibility in working hours and schedule.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
