About the Role:
Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Defense Litigation Paralegal to join dynamic team in New Castle, DE. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on New Jersey and New York law, and a proven ability to manage cases from inception through resolution. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Handle defense litigation cases from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and subpoenas.
- Document Preparation: Organize, analyze, and manage case files, medical records, and other litigation-related documents.
- Legal Research: Conduct research on NJ and NY state laws, regulations, and procedures relevant to defense litigation matters.
- Communication: Liaise with attorneys, clients, experts, and court personnel to facilitate case progression. Maintain clear and professional communication.
- Court Deadlines: Monitor and calendar deadlines for filings, hearings, depositions, and trials to ensure timely compliance.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with legal teams, adopting a proactive and team-oriented approach to case strategy.
- Technology: Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document preparation, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in defense litigation.
- Familiarity with New Jersey and New York court procedures and e-filing systems.
- Proficiency in managing discovery, trial preparation, and document production.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
- Experience in environmental law, mass torts, or toxic tort litigation.
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or Bachelor’s degree.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $65,585.00 - $75,590.00 per year
