Job Description:
Alpha Tau is looking for a physicist or an engineering graduate with a strong tendency towards physics, to join its efforts to make its breakthrough cancer treatment “Alpha DaRT” (Diffusing Alpha-emitters Radiation Therapy) available to millions of patients worldwide.
You will be responsible for procedure planning, data analysis, as well as for problem solving and algorithms implementation for procedure improvement. You will be the main POC for the sites regarding physics matters.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Analyze clinical data (post treatment DICOM images and radioactive measurements) to investigate in detail the relation between various aspects of the treatment and the clinical outcomes.
- Design and implement algorithms for treatments improvement.
- Review treatment plans, implementation and outcomes to provide input and suggestions for improvements.
- Provide training to medical physicists, surgeons and radiation oncologists in leading cancer centers worldwide on Alpha DaRT principles, treatment planning methods, radioactive measurements, detector calibrations and safety considerations.
- Manage the database of patients’ DICOMs and radioactivity tests.
Qualifications
Education:
- B.Sc. in Physics / Health Physics / Engineering with physics background
Specialized knowledge:
- Familiarity with radiation and radioactive isotopes (handling, safety, detection techniques)
- Hands-on experience in equipment industry (medical, electronics) – an advantage
- Experience in clinical settings and hospital environments is a plus
Skills and abilities:
- Good communication skills
- Ability to travel in the US/Canada frequently for a few days
- Be comfortable with being present in operation rooms
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
