About the Job
The Director of Accounting & Finance is a senior executive responsible for directing and overseeing the corporation's financial activities, preparing current financial reports and summaries, and creating forecasts to predict future growth. This role encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, including financial strategy, reporting, compliance, and team development, while managing highly confidential financial information.
This position will oversee all financial operations for Alphalete Athletics, Alphaland, Odilia Properties, and GC Fitness, and assist in the management of the owner's personal finances and investments. It offers the opportunity to work with solid financials and build a team that can support rapid expansion and growth.
Essential Job Duties
Financial Strategy
- Develop, oversee, and execute the company’s overall financial strategy, annually presenting an updated financial plan for approval.
- Align financial and accounting efforts with the company’s revenue and expansion goals.
Financial Budget & Reporting
Design and install an annual company-wide budget to ensure revenue goals are met.Monitor the approved budget for adherence and recommend adjustments as needed throughout the year.Establish financial and accounting KPIs, routinely report results, and recommend corrective actions for any identified issues.Oversee audit functions and ensure compliance with all accounting, finance, and tax regulations.Finance & Accounting Execution
Direct the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and government filings.Compare actual sales and profit projections against budgeted figures, making necessary adjustments to forecasts and budgets.Review and refine planning processes, implementing improvements to existing methods.Develop and implement financial controls, processes, and organizational roles to build a scalable accounting and finance department.Serve as the primary corporate representative with external entities, including banks, accounting firms, insurance companies, legal counsel, and tax authorities.Treasury Management Oversight
Manage the company’s cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations, investments, and growth initiatives.Oversee banking relationships, ensuring optimal financial arrangements and agreements.Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts to support strategic planning.Monitor and manage the company’s debt structure, ensuring adherence to covenants and effective utilization of credit facilities.Evaluate and mitigate financial risks, including interest rate and currency exposure.Ensure compliance with all treasury-related regulations and internal policies.Organizational Collaboration
Collaborate with the President & COO to analyze operations, identifying areas for reorganization, cost reduction, or efficiency improvements.Work closely with the executive team to coordinate planning and establish organizational priorities.Long-Term Financial Analysis
Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share.Present insights to support strategic decision-making and expansion plans.Required Skills & Experience
Experience :Ten (10) or more years of senior-level accounting and finance experience, with a focus on retail and online market expansion.
Proven leadership experience, growing and managing teams through organizational change and transformation.Skills :Fluency with metrics-based assessment of financial performance.Strong proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Functional knowledge of financial management and accounting software.Certifications :Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.Attributes :Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities.High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with financial planning and analysis in high-growth environments.Knowledge of global financial operations and regulations.Willingness to travel domestically and globally up to 10% of the time.Work Conditions
Location : Based in Missouri City, TX.Travel : Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required.
