Job Summary :
As the Accounting Director, you will lead the oversight of the entire accounting department, encompassing construction accounting, property accounting, and corporate accounting. Your role involves managing the productivity and professional development of the accounting team while ensuring consistency, compliance, and accuracy across all accounting functions.
Duties / Responsibilities :
1. Leadership and Team Management :
- Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance, direction, and support to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth within the department.
2. Policy and Procedure Development :
Oversee the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across all departments.Regularly review and update policies to reflect changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices.3. Financial Reporting and Analysis :
Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and reconciliations.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data through regular review and analysis, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or errors.4. Process Improvement and Efficiency :
Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency in accounting operations.Work closely with the China team to streamline processes and ensure consistency across international operations.5. Strategic Financial Guidance :
Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and department heads, supporting decision-making and driving financial performance.Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, presenting findings to key stakeholders as needed.6. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight :
Monitor and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting principles, staying updated on changes and ensuring adherence across the organization.Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address any regulatory issues or concerns.7. Industry Trends and Best Practices :
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance, implementing changes as necessary to maintain competitiveness and compliance.Attend relevant conferences, seminars, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.8. Collaboration and Communication :
Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, auditors, and regulatory agencies.Act as a liaison between the accounting department and other departments within the organization, addressing any accounting-related concerns or requests.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.4 years of proven experience in accounting leadership roles.In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.Strong understanding of property accounting and real estate finance.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Office Suite.Essential Functions :
Typical work schedule, Monday through Friday, and after hours as requested.Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and / or electronic device.Excellent organization, coordination, and project management skills.Lift or move items up to 25 pounds.Ability to walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time.
