Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
Oversee all aspects of maintaining pet food manufacturing equipment and overall facility, including building and grounds.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Manages maintenance personnel including job assignments, training, and development.
Manages and performs work on work order system and preventive maintenance programs.
Responsible for maintaining maintenance inventory and backup equipment/parts.
Proactively decrease down time and maintenance cost.
Assist Engineering Department with project development and implementation.
Technically competent in equipment repair and troubleshooting (electrical & mechanical).
Ensure maintenance activities and personnel comply with SQF Level 3 requirements.
Manages PLC programs and plant automation.
Calibrates equipment.
Manages outside contractors for equipment repair and support.
Responsible for staffing maintenance department.
Helps support and maintain regulatory compliance.
Oversee day to day operations of equipment.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required).
Education: A high school degree is required, an Associates Degree or more is preferred.
Experience: 5 years plus of experience as a maintenance leadership role in a manufacturing setting
Food manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
Experience managing a team across a 24-hour operations.
