Job purpose
Alpine Air is currently seeking a full-time Director of Flight Training, preferably located in Denver, Colorado. The Director of Flight Training is responsible for the management of ground-based, aircrew training devices (ATD) training, and flight training of aircraft crew members. Candidates must meet our high standard of excellence for safety, piloting skills, crew resource management skills, and customer relations. Candidates must have strong professional interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
Duties and responsibilities
The selected applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:
- Establish flight training requirements.
- Ensure developed training programs satisfy the FAA-approved training program and do not conflict with regulations or other requirements contained in technical publications.
- Responsible for maintaining training records in the electronic record keeping system.
- Participates as a ground instructor on Company specific curriculum segments as required.
- Responsible for development of training courses, updating current courses due to subject matter or manual changes.
- Be able to conduct live classroom training.
- Develop and maintain training class schedules.
- Ensure adequate facilities and personnel are available to conduct training.
- Performing administrative and collateral duties relative to training such as: record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, training development, and maintenance of training programs.
Qualifications
General qualifications include:
- Must possess commercial pilot certificate
- Must possess FAA Class II Medical Certificate
- Must meet 135 pilot requirements
- High level knowledge of FAA regulations and guidance
- Ability to complete training program; demonstrating proficiency with job requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must read, write, and understand English
- Professional communication skills for complex internal and external aircraft communications
- High school diploma required; BS/BA preferred
- Required to pass pre-employment drug test and background check
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. and have resided in the U.S. for 4.5 of the past 5 years
Working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electronic systems, and is potentially exposed to industrial hydraulic fluids. Work for this position is performed in a classroom setting and in simulator equipment enclosed in an indoor facility, regardless of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
Compensation
This position is Full-time. In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, full-time salary can range from $110,000 – 130,000, or $150,000 with a one-year employment contract.
Benefits include generous Paid Time Off, eight (8) paid holidays per year, and 401(k) with employer match. Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance are also available immediately upon employment.
